In Hollywood, salads aren’t just a meal, they are a way of life. Everyone knows that in order to look fabulous, you have to eat healthy foods regularly. This is a quick and tasty salad to add to your diet.

I call this the 1970′s Salad because it has sunflower seeds in it, which remind me of hippies from my childhood.

Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients:

1 Bag (or one head) of Romaine lettuce

1 Bag of mixed baby lettuce or baby greens

1 cup of cooked sulfite-free bacon or Bacon Bits

1 cup of dried cranberries or craisins

1 cup of sunflower seeds.

1 cup of croutons

1 cucumber (peeled and sliced)

1/2 of a red onion

I make a homemade ranch dressing that tastes good with this.

Directions:

1. Mix the two types of lettuce together in a salad bowl

2. Add the rest of the ingredients EXCEPT for dressing

3. Toss.

4. Toss in dressing when you are ready to serve it.**Do not add the dressing until you are ready to serve it or you’ll have soggy salad.
